Very nice photos alex... a 50mm lens should the first lens you buy when getting a DLSR!

I will agree there tho my 50mm F1.4 AFS is AWESOME!

diesel junior:
Canon/Nikon both top notch like a Rolls and a Bentley, some will prefer one, others another but in the real world the difference between the two is minimal. I couldnt agree more about a 50mm, it should be your first lens and with f1.8 the depth of field will be terrific. You can get a good 50mm for less than €200 and worth every penny (or centimo......). I have a Canon 20D which i use for F1 pictures coupled with a Sigma 400mm, i am sure we have some F1 fans on here so please feel free to have a look on my website - http://www.flickr.com/photos/udaltea/sets/ (Mods - hope this is ok to put this in?) and enjoy the photos at the Essen show from a couple of weeks ago. The pictures at Essen i took with a Panasonic Lumix compact and is great camera, enjoy!
