Revs jumping

(1/5) > >>

SteveS:
Ok, hard to explain.

But say im in traffic, i put it in first, do an eager start, then put my foot down on the clutch to coast to a stop.
or
driving hard(ish) then have to put my foot on the clutch because something has come in front etc...

...the rev drops almost sounding like its going to stall, then jumps up to 1400revs or so.. then kind of hunts around... dropping and increasing.
Sometimes if i don't come to a complete stop it carrys on, or i have to engage the clutch and off again for it to stop..

any ideas?

alexperkins:
Have you tried VCDS'ing it? Sounds like a sensor is playing up, or possibly a dirty throttle body

SteveS:
I don't have it, However, Im hoping to get to see Rick soon who does. I don't know if he knows how we check that, any guide?

alexperkins:
Do an Auto Scan of all controllers, or you can be specific and just check Engine 01 then Fault Codes

SteveS:
Thanks mate
If i can, ill do the whole lot!! always felt a bit funny after the cambelt change.... :-\ any chance that could affect?

I was thinking of trying STP Complete Fuel System Cleaner or something.. any opinions?
