MK5 R32 Exhaust on a GT TDI?
(1/1)
Sharif:
Hi guys,
I am buying a R32 exhaust today as I am going to be getting an R32 rear bumper soon. I have been told that this exhaust had been modified by some welding to fit a gt tdi.
Here are some pictures:
If it doesnt go straight on, does anyone know what to do to make it fit? Or should I not bother buying this one?
Thanks
Sharif

If I were you I’d forget about the R32 exhaust as it requires a fair amount of chopping about. I do remember a thread about someone doing this though.
I considered doing this but for not much extra I got a custom rear section made up in stainless. We cut the original system at the proper VW marked place (see pics below) so if I ever need to put it back to standard its an easy enough swap. The added bonus is that it sounds really good (for a diesel)
Sharif:
Oh ok thanks for that mate.
Only reason why I was going to buy this one is because its £75 and the seller has said to me its been modified by some welding to make it fit a GT TDI.
I'm hoping it goes straight on, otherwise I wont be too happy lol

This could be an option for you: Blueflame rear section in R32 style.

Its Gti/Edition 30 fitment which have a slightly larger bore than the Tdi exhaust buts thats nothing a simply adapter sleeve wouldn't fix.
Pretty cheap at £133.82, cant see any pictures of it on their site, here's some from another forum: http://www.vagcars.co.uk/forums/showpost.php?s=bf49c6ad441bd293a3b10d17f4eb25fe&p=28030&postcount=14
Theres the milltek too but a tad more expensive! http://www.millteksport.com/media.file.cfm?fileid=588
