Random question ..... Glovebox / Armrest Cooling

Dear All,

Bit of a random question having had an altogether miserable summer weather wise last year the air con and other hot weather accessories got very little use.  Now, how does the cooling function of the glovebox and the centre arm rest compartment work.  I mean do I need to have the air con on ? Does it have to be on low ? I know about the "vent" in the glovebox and it is set as open.  If the aircon button is on - does this mean regardless of the temp set by the dials in the car that the contents of the glovebox remain cool ???

I'm confused - know it is a silly menial question  :grin:

I've never really used this function and Booklet 3.1 in your manual isn't clear either. See page 79....not clear at all :confused:

my guess is that its simply a vent similar to the others, so the glovebox is only cooled when the AC is on for the entire car

as far as i know if the blowers are on then the cooler is on. I've got 2 emergency kinder eggs that have been fine in my glovebox since november  :drinking: ...although its not been majorly hot
