Forge Twintercooler with Revo Stage 2

<< < (2/5) > >>

Carrera2RS:
DomT,

Yes real shame I can't make it  :sad1:

It would have been good to see more than two other cars inthe car park in good weather too !

Happy birthday by the way  :happy2:

Carrera2RS:
I have decided to get the twintercooler taken off the car. This will be a very expensive excercise as it's a 2+ hour job, so 4-5 hours.

To be honest I am going to go back to Stage 2 without the twintercooler, I have decied to look at replacing the Golf in 6-12 months, and I don't want to keep throwing money at it. The engine mount experience and getting the car to handle has been too frustrating.

I will put in the classifieds when I have had this done. It will be only a week or two on the car.........

bacillus:
Before jumping ship, look at your original IC hoses. Are the rubber O rings sill on the couplers as they need to be transfered over to the forge couplers otherwise you'll be losing boost.

i am not convinced about the merits of fitting a twintercooler and several tuners have exprssed this view.
shame you thinking of getting rid already when you were "enjoying" experimenting with the geometry so much!

Bernhard30:
Oh dear, I'm still waiting for my Twintercooler to arrive, I wanted a black finish to it, (as I don't do silver and shiny) and already people are getting mixed results. And one is already heading for a removal.

@ Carrera2RS this is fitted onto your Pirelli isn't it? So same result will apply to my Ed30 then..

Do seem to remember the Forge lads saying to me (at the blazing hot Inters Sunday last year) this item did give some slight power gains, but guess there are a number of factors at play. Level of tune run etc.
That said I suppose 15bhp on top of 320 odd may not be much of a noticeable hike, but who can tell.

Being a bit naive and definitely not technical - I didn't really think a 'Twinter' would give a big slug of extra power merely I considered it would allow the engine to run cooler and hopefully not stress it too much but that may just be in my head. Either way sorry to hear you had a non expected result when it went on.
