Surely this would occur for any intake though?

It does.  It's not just the pipe diameter that affects throttle response/torque, it's also the length of the intake path.  The OEM intake is very short.  At least 30% shorter than most of the bath sponge on a drain pipe kits out there.

Most people only care about peak gains on the dyno and whooshing / sucking noises, so don't care about a loss of bottom end response.
I thought if I bought a forge intake it would have had that taken into consideration anyone wanna buy a twintake

God no!  No intake manufacturer goes to even 10% of the R&D that VW do   What they are selling you is hp gains at the top end, and in that respect most intakes do deliver.  How long has it been fitted?  Give it a few weeks for the ECU to relearn and it might perk up a bit.  A lot of people do end up going back to the standard intake though

My car passed its MOT.

It needs new rear drop links. they look easy to change, so I've ordered them, and a new set of ARB bushes to put in as a preventative measure.

Needs new rear tyres as well, so I ordered a full set of Pilot Sport 4, it'll be good to compare them to the Eagle F1 4's that I've been use too. I thought it would be a good idea to change them before it gets R-Tech'd in less than two weeks!

They don't need gapping, just bung em' in.

Well, post R-Tech KO4 conversion, and despite the fact they did an AMAZING job, I needed to have the new Milly R32 zorst adjusted as tail pipes were sticking out too far. Took to my pals garage and re adjusted the back box, cut off tail pipes, re centred and re welded. Looks a million times better. I’d post pics but currently re painting the plastic lower skirt in gloss black, hence all masked up. Will pop some pics up tomorrow

Picked up a standard manual 3dr GTI back in August.

Had the below works completed this week-
New calipers, discs and pads fitted.
New thermostat as the car was only heating to 70degrees.
New wishbone rubbers.
New rear shocks and bumpstops as the shocks were both leaking.
New timing belt and water pump kit fitted.
New rocker cover and gasket as old one was cracked and sealant used on it.
New cam follower.
Wheels refurbished and powder coated in Mercedes AMG light anthracite.
New outer CV boots.

Next on the list is full respray and fit new plastics all round too.
