Mine did 239hp on my local Maha dyno stock with cat-back Milltek, Maha's are usually quite conservative.

230ps, 100% bone stock ED30 on a Sun Dyno.

Obviously there will be a bit of variance over winter, but I'm a bit dubious of standard engines measuring significantly more than the factory quoted power.

Pads done the other week but blew up my 21mm socket so bought a new one and did the discs today. Noticed a split in the offside CV boot so that needs doing next.

Been thinking about replacing the Golf again and weirdly gone full circle and decided we might replace it with................ an ED30

I used a tool off ebay, tubing with metal connectors on either end, one went onto the bottle of oil, the other screwing into the drain/fill hole in the gearbox.

When I finished filling it still I managed to cover my hands, arms and floor in oil.

Fluid coming out was darker then that i put in. It's been 20k miles and 18 months since the last change and the gearchange is noticeably smoother now. VW say the service interval is 40k miles, hmm.

I’ve bought one of these for my next DSG service Saw one used on Deutsch Auto Parts (YouTube) and makes the job simple

Weekend work consisted of the continuation of going over the WHOLE car using Dr.Colorchip stone chip remover. Brilliant stuff, but takes a while to complete asyou need to be patient. Also fixed sidelight fault, as one of the pins on the loom connector had bent, hence LED sidelight was out

Did you manage to get the light out without taking bumper off?

Labor of love, as spent many hours compounding & polishing etc (part time detailer is me) and the Dr.Colorchip is brill too!!! Stll have the N/S panels and roof to do
Headlights are retrofitted Xenons, but i had them made up by EM Tuning (an old pal from RS4 days) hence he fitted RS4 running gear and super bright LED sidelights. Also upgraded the spots to LEDs - AMAZING nighttime brightness even just with the spots on :-)

Mine is gagging for some Dr Colour Chip action.  Do you just splodge it onto the chips, squeegee it in and then wipe off?  Seems too easy and too good to be true!
I couldn't find plain black on their site, only pearls and metallics.

Another year, another MOT pass but got an advisory on a dead third brake light.  Something I think we all have to do at some point!

Mine's not working either, had the car 2 years been a brand new one in the door pocket.

Must get round to fitting it....

Apart from having to break the old one out, it doesn't look like it's too bad a job.  At least when the first one is busted out, future replacements will be a lot easier!

Well that was hilariously easy   Punch a hole into the red bit with a screwdriver and then hack away!  Literally takes 2 minutes to rip it all out.

The only awkward bit is seating the new grommet into the spoiler as it's quite deeply recessed.  I'm not sure if folk bother doing that but I did, just in case it prevents water from getting into the car.

Skill level - 1 spanner  :happy2:

Tools required - Hammer, screwdriver, long nose pliers and if you have them, a right angle pick to help you pull the old grommet out.

I thought that someone on here mentioned recently that 3rd brake light wasn't an MOT Fail item..... So how can it be an advisory? Puzzled??
