Had full service done on the edition 30 today at Maxtreme, my local specialist, no problems other than finding a fuel filter with a date stamp of 2007  :jumping: with what can be best described as mud inside!

I'm from Long Sutton about 10 miles away - they do their own tune which is a generic file which I have on mine (310hp/404nm), or they now do APR which is more expensive. Decent guys in my experience father & son team. They have in house dyno too, so you get before /after graphs etc

Yesterday evening I partx my Mk5 GTI at VW for an upgrade.

I thought it would be easy but it was in fact extremely hard letting it go. All the memories I have of working on it over the past 5 years made it hard to drive away from it but after I put my foot down in my new car and heard it roar it helped me leave it.

This form has been here for me and you guys have made my stay most welcome but now it is time to go to the mk 7.5 section well mk7 section.

I will make sure I come back and visit when I have time and I just want to thanks anyone and everyone who has helped me out with information as I couldn't of done it without the help

@akbarirfan If you didn't already do it, it may be worth doing the leads as well, they can break down over time (on any car) and if they've not been done in years, new leads can make a significant difference on a cold damp morning.

Ah yes. Coil packs straight on top of the plugs. I guess they do that for the above reasons.

Things have moved on from when I had to time my first car up by rotating the distributor

Ive been diesels since 1997  :)

My Mk5 and I grew a plant...

I probably need to get those arch liners off and clean out my wings. I also notices a bit of rust on the end of the sill in front of the rear N/S wheel... :(

There is lots of stuff I'd prefer to be doing to the car, but looks like preventative bodywork maintenance should be the first.
