Guys I'm getting aP0299 underboost code, on the Edition 30 freeze frame data showed at 6700rpm it was only making 1020mbar. Did some high load logs earlier when roads were quiet, it's making 1.5bar atm....Feels quicker than ever too.

Not smoke tested it to see if its got a leak, but the requested and actual boosts seem to match? Diverter valve flutters sometimes, get a rattle from guessing wastegate on start up ?

Isn't that the rev limit anyway?  In which case I would expect the wastegate duty cycle to drop right down.

1.5 bar is pretty extreme, what map is it?  Stage 1 is normally around 1.2-1.3 bar.

000665 - Boost Pressure Regulation
P0299 - 002 - Control Range Not Reached
Freeze Frame:
Fault Status: 01100010
Fault Priority: 2
Fault Frequency: 1
Reset counter: 255
Mileage: 125716 km
Time Indication: 0
Date: 2000.00.00
Time: 09:09:33

Freeze Frame:
RPM: 6744 /min
Load: 81.9 %
Speed: 127.0 km/h
Temperature: 69.0°C
Temperature: 32.0°C
Absolute Pres.: 1010.0 mbar
Voltage: 14.097 V

Maxtreme map my local guys, 6700 is peak power on dyno, rev limit is 7k+ I gnerally shift around 6k, but have been taking it a bit further recently in a mad few minutes of driving.  (log of boost request vs actual on my members gallery thread)

Every so often it stores that code after being driven hard.  It's been mapped like that since I bought it, so nearly 4 years.

I picked up my eddie last night.
She had a full paint correction, two coats wax, headlamp restoration, calipers re-painted to VW red (pics were taken before they were painted).  New Edition 30 badge on the rear.  Engine Bay cleaned
The idea had been to get it into nice condition for the next owner as I was going to sell her, but she's looking so good right now I'm actually not sure I can do it !

Lots of work done this week, mucho dinero…

- cam belt / water pump
- thermostat and temperature sensor
- fresh oil
- hpfp cam follower and fuel filter
- fresh ate200 brake fluid
- steel clutch line
- replacement air con compressor
- 034 street density motor mounts
- vibra small dogbone bushing
- various boring small jobs

What did I learn? Well the old water pump was starting to leak after 5 years.  The hpfp cam follower was beginning to wear gently around its perimeter after @10k miles on the VIS pump.  Also one of the original motor mounts had started leaking, which was displacing the proflex inserts. Finally the bolt holding the belt wheel on the original air con compressor snapped.

Great support once again from Nat Foley in supplying a used replacement compressor and the 034 motor mounts with next day shipping.

Will give it a machine polish tomorrow.

nice job, when you mean the caliper in the VW red you mean exactly the OEM reference color? Or just a similiar generic red?

Took her out for a short drive since she doesn’t get much of a run out nowadays (relegated to 2nd car and stored in my garage).

Then gave her a proper clean and over the next few days/weeks will do paint correction and full detail.

I ordered some Armour Shield Ceramic Coating which should arrive this week and will put that on and see what it is like. Read good things about it. Anyone here used it?

My RCD330 has gone mute on me, tried just about everything but the volume will not adjust up or down. I had a crackling speaker on the passenger side so maybe that has gone and muted the whole system. Anyone experienced this?
