Finally got round to modding my white worm boot badge. (Kept the boot mechanism but got a 3D style badge from a golf 6 and wrapped it myself.

Quality is good considering the price No nasty casting marks but thin paint

Fitted 2 new gas struts to the tailgate. £20 a pair and worked great. No need to pay oem dealer rip off prices. As you can see, mine have passed there best.

Got my Haldex unit repaired by https://www.haldexrepairs.co.uk/

Matt couldn't be more helpful and guarantees all units with a lifetime warranty. This will hopefully fix my intermittent ESP errors and loss of 4wd I've been experiencing over the last few years.

The cause of my issues...

Been noticing that the GTI has been a little twitchy over bumps and motorway driving at times.

The only thing left to do on mine was the rear trailing arms, so bought some PSB poly bushings and new bolts from TPS and attacked them at the weekend. Quite an easy task thankfully with a hack saw through the void to cut the outer collar carefully for removal

Glad I did them as both bushes were shot with the rubber not attached to the central bolt tube on either of them......both sides removed and changed in three hours, with the car driving much better now.

No more issues and recommend people look at theirs.

I treated my tyres to some more air. It’s pleasantly surprising how more alert the car feels with an extra 3-4 psi.

Yeah mine are like that as well.  It's amazing how much a rotten rear end can affect the steering feel.

Fitted new engine mounts (lemforder) with powerflex inserts. No vibration so far and car feels 100x better, as was running original mounts from 16 years ago. Already had the 034 dogbone upper and lower inserts fitted. Will upgrade the actual dog bone next to the new OEM one
