Hi boys,

Does this start up sound ok to you? To my untrained ear it's a bit "coughy and laggy" suggesting an old battery maybe?

What we supposed to be listening to? Can only hear the ping of the alarm lol.
Sorry one without the seatbelt noise

I've been getting some loud sucking noises in boost lately, so decided to replace the turbo intake hose - https://www.akstuning.co.uk/shop/home/1467-genuine-air-intake-pipe-06f129627h.html

Glad I did as the old one was all brittle and crunchy sounding when squished, plus the oil build up on the jubliee clamp is an obvious sign of leaking.

A previous owner has obviously fitted an intake kit at some point (I would never use jubliees as they're crap) so fitted the proper OEM spring clamp to apply the correct tension on the pipe.

All quiet again now, and probably better fuel trims too

went in for a health check, since I bought it a couple of weeks ago...

-Adjusted steering sensitivity - now doesn't feel like you're steering a tank
-Drivers headlamp broken, and cable tied...
-Hand Brake Travel High
- *most concerned, Oil Leak from gear box. Starting to drip (guy said, it looks like they spray painted the box  to cover the leak)
-Intake pipe broken and insecure
-NSR Road spring broken (they said it was shilted in)
-Head light level sensor arm missing

the above are not taking into account problems I found with passenger driver side door not opening from the outside, the boot lid not snapping back and the car is slow to start although the battery is measured at 68% health.

Not amused with the dealership I bought the car from, nor the MOT centre they used the door being unable to unlock is a fail.

Finally got around to installing the replacement DSG gear knob and surround I bought off the forum (thanks Louie)

My old gear knob and gaiter itself wasn’t too bad (some scuffs seen on left) but the surround was starting to look tired.

Looking all new and shiny now.

Any interest in my old one give me a shout.

Got hold of some Passat hubs. Removed the old bearings and gave them a clean. Got some new SKF wheel bearings on order.

Picked up a genuine Ed30 alloy locally for a spare. Will get it refurbed the same place as my others (Which are still in my loft ) www.lepsons.com in Gillingham in a Light Anthracite finish.

Today I'll mostly be clipping off the nearside rear brake splash guard because it's too much work to replace it right now and it produces the loudest sound known to man when it rattles. Also need to figure out why my rear wiper has stopped working, probably the same reason the rear demist and boot switch have stopped working as well.

I have the exact same issue with electrical stuff on the boot hatch. I'm 99% sure it's down to the wiring fraying underneath the rubber outer at the boot lid hinge. Not sure if there's a plug and play replacement or whether you have to repair individual wires, will post back here once I've figured it out.
