Changed the oil after putting some Wynn's Engine Flush in (sounded like noisy tappets yesterday), filters changed and a can of air-con sanitiser run through the vents as it was smelling like B.O.!

Couldn't help but eye up some of those shiny, new mk6 GTI's on the forecourt when I collected the service parts...

Used to have Edition 30 - number 009 and a GT TDI 140.
Now have an S4 B8 Avant (stage 2)

washed my wheels again and have just put the first coat of sealant on. Will buff off in 10 mins then watch F1 qualifying and then get back out there to put the 2nd coat of sealant on

I think so far i've spent more time cleaning up the exhaust tips and the wheels than i have driving it  Still need to take it on a proper long run rather than doing errand runs around London, the other day we did a 6 mile round trip ave 21.3 mpg and average speed of 9mph  :scared:

I have now completed a session with the DA and copious amounts of Menz polish, followed by 2 coats on Megs NXT wax.......

The body work feels like glass and the car looks like it just rolled out of showroom now.  I will post some pictures when I get the opprotunity.

^^^ look forwad to seeing them

Just told off the woman who lives at the end of the road for the way she parked her beaten up Saab so that her license plate was touching mine - she'd left her wheels on full lock and there's a car behind her so i know she has wedged it in.  :scared: Miraculously there is no damage to my bodywork that i can see and i've had a couple of looks but really not happy. Gave her such a telling off and then moved my car as far away as i can frm hers.  :fighting:

I hate London on-street parking  :fighting:

Today? - I drove 480 miles taking my daughter up to Nottingham Uni and back to move house up there. Hot sunny day and drove all the way with the sunroof partly open and the windows down a couple of inches.

So versatile, is the 5-door GTI - Loaded up across town and then drove home fast and empty.

Replaced exhaust pressure sensor to cure Check Engine Light coming on yesterday. VCDS put me onto it and allowed me to check the DPF status to confirm I was on the right track.
I reckon my previously owned VCDS cable just paid for itself in one go, dealers were talking of "about 1~1.5 hrs labour plus parts, I did it in an hour with part from TPS just under £50. Happy little soldier!

Regards,
John

Clay after roof

Clay shouldn't be that dirty unless the car hasn't been properly decontaminated beforehand. What were your steps prior to claybar?

The GTI isn't just a machine. It's very much a living, breathing thing.
