have been getting prices for paint work on my battle wounded mk5  :sad1:

what happened to it Phil? You both been in the wars lately!

Blow out, which ended in bent wing, bonnet and smashed front bumper corner  :sad1:, it looks worse then it is, its just panels nothing major, but will cost me most of the spare cash id put to one side for mods  :sad1: best bit it wasnt me driving, i did tell her id have the panels off hers as its the same colour  she's ok and thats the main thing

My head is on the mend, headaches arent as bad now, but still got a lump where i cut it, so untill that goes down a little i will continue wearing my beanie

How have you got on with the skirt mate?

Your core support survived, right?

Yeah everyones fine, just a little bent metal :sad1:

Service at the local SEAT garage- nothing bad to report! And taxed for another 6 months. Going in on 28th to get the wheels refurbished in sparkle silver. £260 for all 4 to be shotblasted, powder coated, painted and laquered. No wonder I can't afford to get it remapped at the moment  :sad1:

Why are there rust issues in the UK? Do they salt the roads there or what?

What do they use in the States, is it just grit? Must be murder on the bonnet (sorry "hood") not sure what's worse, corrosion or stone chips! We get Salt and Grit, might have to invest in a bra me thinks!  :happy2:

Fitted my new Monza 2 onto the car. Took the shredded one off, got it's tyre fitted to the new wheel, put the offside front on the nearside front, and the new one to the offside front.

The car looks so much better without that messed up alloy onto it, it was breaking my heart every time I looked at it  :sad1:

They use grit/small gravel so you just stay back and away from people looking to cut in front closely. They usually only do this when it snows hard and then sweep it up a day or two afterwards. For ice'y conditions they spray the roads with magnesium chloride to prevent ice forming. Chipping is not too bad and some even opt for the 3M clear film wrap all over the front end. And 'Bonnet' I'm cool with ;]  :drinking:
