Re: Tfsi Mikes Money Pit : Sunday super mini mod

Love this thread. How does the brakes compare to the standard set-up, mike?

After 4 days I driving the mini bus they're f-ing great! Lol

In seriousness;  the handling dramatically improved with the weight loss.  I did it on a shoe string and didn't fit the pad dampers, fitted used OEM porsche pads and didnt bother putting fresh fluid through.

They are great brakes.  I've ordered Pagid Rs4-2 and just received some ate super blue so lookin forward to re juvinating them!!

So I got a copy of the bill from the dealer today that is been sent to the womans insurer for fixing my car.

Over 3500euros, I want 15% of that as de valuation compensation and the equivelant cash for not having had a hire car...

Will update when Ive rung her insurer on Monday...   :happy2:

Re: Tfsi Mikes Money Pit :Wash / Fuel filter & still spluttering
« Reply #214 on: September 27, 2011, 12:58:46 pm »

Gave her a quick wash this morning at work...

Then took her to Seat for a new fuel filter...

Started and drove really nicely, made me wonder if it would stop the most recent spluttering.  But was nearly home going up hill with 25M to empty on the dash and splutter splutter.  :fighting:

Going to do a scan in a min to see if the cyl 3 missfire has settled and then going for some new irridiums.

Also called into say Morgen to the local fire fighters as they were all pointing at the car as I was sat in traffic...

Cant wait to get a decent camera! iPhone's good for random quick snapping but not upto some of the great shot opportunities that randomly arise...

Great thread mate  :congrats: Soem proper mods

Thank you

Ive decided today I should be on the look out for the SFS boost hoses (Turbo outlet & Intercooler) and not narrow my search to just the Neuspeed ones after recomendation from 56OctyVRS.

Did the Boot pop mod yesterday to stop myself crying about the current engine issue.

Also hardwired my TomTom and ran the wires to the rear view mirror to fit Red LEDs like the auto dimming mirror, giving the ambient red glow...

Ive ordered a new injector and New Rev PCV kit (I dont have rough idle when removing dipstick) to hopefully sort a missfire issue. (finger crossed)

Here is an unusual log showing a disturbing drop in airflow on boost...

Need to get out and do some more logging to see if the problem is consistent.  Thanks to RichN for graphing the results

I'd say that looks more like a logging error or a maf connection failure, rather than anything else. In fact I'd go as far as to say that the reading is impossible under load with the pedal at 99.6% and boost and rail pressure being maintained  :happy2:
Golf R gone.

Your input's a relief John as I was happy being convinced the new injector and PCV will have her back on form.  Might whip the MAF out, I was thinking if it was buggered it would show odd results all the way through the rev range?

I do admittedly need to do some more runs to get more consistent results...
