i ve used the denso iridium plugs before in 1.8 t engines lots of companies recommend them after they ve been mapped but lots also say vw ones are as good as any

....ALL the various guys who look after my car say that VW ones don't need replacing for another brand.

But we are forgetting that yellow plugs are the fastest

Yellow?  Is that a figure of speech or a particular brand?

....I'll let candy turbo answer that - He's an expert on them.

:happy2:

mine got changed at the 40k service (car's done 37k miles tho)

got told the original air filter doesn't need changing till 60k tho!  :surprised: :surprised:

i was shocked by that. the nice chick on reception (one reason i still go back to my dealer for servicing lol) offered to have it done if i wanted to tho.

maybe it needs cleaning to get me those extra ponies revo promised!

....She wasn't referring to your filter (you wish!)

My VW mechanic friend told me that customers often ask why their car feels as if it goes better after a service and he told me it's always when they've fitted a new air filter.

I have mine inspected every 10k miles as part of my oil change. Spark plugs (VW) changed every 20k miles.
