All Things Mk5 > Mk5 General Area
raped by a mini
TomB:
Ah Jason's car is immense! Top bloke too!
I used to have an Ibiza Cupra TDI which was a Fabia vRS with a bigger turbo and uprated suspension components, Revo got it up to 198bhp and 298lb/ft. For keeping up with things it was great, I even embarrassed a brand new Boxster with it. The handling was a bit poor though, compared to the MK5 GTI its lame...the platform is specific to them but theres a lot of MK4 Golf parts on there and thats its downfall. They've got a lot of bang for the buck, but something has to give to stay competitive.

I hope its a remapped car. My missus had a mini cooper (which the vrs was very slightly quicker than on the top gear track) and that was slow slow slow. The cooper s (170bhp) she has now feels like a 1.2 when i step from mine to hers. I remember having plenty of fun down a country lane a good while back only to be passed by an absolute loon in a battered vectra. Knowing the roads and having no fear can make up for large power differences. I love to have fun but go nowhere near my cars limit on public roads, i ended up in a field many years ago and never want to repeat that again :innocent:

The road was a dual carriageway so it'd be interesting to see how it behaved on some properly curvy SCs.
Nousey, not quite sure what you mean by "roll like the titanic" but there wasn't as much body roll as I was expecting.
