....Yes, one of them. Such courses remap your brain!
Don Palmer is top notch for track training. I'd recommend Big John at Drivetrain for fast road - He trains 'blue lighters'.

Doubt I'd ever take the GTI onto a proper track (until it has some mods). But would love to able to handle the car properly at high speeds, as well as learning the limits of my car. IS that the one you'd recommend.

....Without any hesitation I'd recommend doing firstly CarLimits to explore the limits of your car off public road in open space. 2 or 4-car day is best (in your own car - Mine was 11 mpg and a set of tyres!)
Then as a follow up, Drivetrain for roadcraft.
Also get a copy of the latest edition "The Police Driver's Handbook Roadcraft" if you can. You'll already know some of it but it's still good and extremely well illustrated.

I guess you need to budget just under £400 for both but you get to keep the brain remap when you change car!
HTH :happy2:
P.S. - I'm gonna write and post a Review on these courses asap (job # 432!!)

^^ This will be an excellent topic. Most people get carried away with adding performance/handling modifications whereas the main influence on how fast a car goes or how well it handles is the actual inputs and skills of the driver.

only just and it was a normal cooper and not the charger or turbo version
Stealth it was likely to me running about 170+bhp so not that bad, you do need a remap LOL , I had a yellow one trying to chase me a whole ago and I succesfully pulled quote a bit on him especially after he hit his rev limiter :signLOL:

Was that around Notts Shaun? If so I bet it's the same one that came sniffing round me a while back..
