Reviving this thread as Martin completed a diagnostic on the vRS today. Looking at the info for the steering controller we discovered that it is almost identical to the Golf -

As you can see the differences are in the last two lines - Shop # and VCID. Can anyone in the know, tell what these relate to and if they will cause an issue fitting cc?

I'm not sure what VCID is but the shop number simply relates to the dealership, factory or bench.

Just browsing google and one possiblity could be VCID - Virtual Circuit Identification?

Anyone in south Yorkshire that could fit cruise control to my 11 plate caddy please... And if poss to my 10 plate T5.1 transporter ..... Vw want silly money for both vehicles and I have not got a clue....

The caddy probably has the newer type combination stalks
the transporter probably can be done, but needs a loom to be fitted
