The information is basically correct.

Have no idea why people are hating it? Its basically a suitably powered diesel with styling cues taken from the GTI.

hate, too strong a word for me. still can't get my head around the golf MK5.5 MK6, it's the styling....but as we're talking engine/mpg and if those figures are true...

..i just don't think it's good enough  :chicken: could do better with what they have to hand in the current parts bin imho. in a new car i would say people like to see new tech and approaches to the way the car performs, they've just reshelled a medeocre engine and reworked the plastics around the car

making the MK6 MK7 appearing on the not too distant horizon more of a reality

Not for me im afraid. If your gonna make a diesel make it hot, 168 BHP is just not enough. You can buy a MKV GT Sport with the same power and it looks better. I just don't get it. I wish they would bring something out like the MK4 Anni Diesel, that was awesome

VC:
^^ agreed, needed more effort putting in to make people WANT one rather than have it merely as a choice with others, buying it new would be so uneconomical unless a part of a fleet... and that doesn't happen that often either as the running costs of other marques are cheaper

car would need to be hotter, or cheap

the money should have been spent on further blue motion

cmdrfire:
It's a Golf GT Diesel, much as currently already exists with the Golf V GTs.
The GTI/GTI-R are petrol only beasties and "halo" cars.

RedRobin:
....

Why do I hate diesels so much!?
