keep all the parts you remove then when you do sell the car return to standard--so get it lowered  :drinking:

but see that's my point - the strut diameter is different, right? so any parts he buys will be specific to the 1.9TDI  or the 1.6 hence you wouldn't be able to sell them on anyways. and the £300 is £300 that could have gone towards an Eddy in a couple of years time.

yeah, wont go blowing money on coilys for a not popularly modded car though, my 40mm drop will do me just fine

and a few subtle mods will be good enough for now :)

yeah agreed, not bothering with coilys- the fact i already have 40mm springs which came at a very nice price means i will drop it 40 and be done with it.

.
The only valid reason to go for coilovers is for improved handling. If you just wanna look cool by being lowered, just buy springs.

surely another benefit is the adjustability?

yeah i got coils so i could adjust the ride height perfectly for my requirements. the adjustability is a bonus, but i doubt i'll ever play with it.

it's a good thing i did because i had them on a day before i raised them slightly again because the nose was catching on speed bumps.

i was looking at the JOM coilovers for my mk5 and looking at reviews they were 90% all very good, alot of people over on ed38 use them.

i found them from dpm performance for just under £200 with free delivery, they also come with a 2 year warrenty which you can not knock
