Mods to stop or limit wheel hop

<< < (4/5) > >>

candy turbo:
i fitted the neuspeed torque arm insert and mine as virtually gone i thought it was bad before easy mod cost about £25 fit it yourself  :happy2:

will eliminating wheel hop bring on other issues ?, for eg added vibration, added wear, cracking exhaust parts or more serious issues like popping drive shafts or shearing cogs ?  , im not saying it does, just another slant on it as perhaps manufacturers left it for a reason

tony_danza:
With beefier mounts, you're going to get harsher vibration - VW won't do that from standard as customers won't accept it, the GTI in their eyes is supposed to be refined.

You're less likely to break things such as you've mentioned, as there's less movement in the engine/transmission - if anything knackered, sloppy mounts cause failures elsewhere.

Milltek include a free torque arm insert (Poly thingy!) with their exhaust to help protect the zorst mounts which also have been revised up front.

Gotta dash to Berks meet (that's not a meeting of berks!)

182_blue:
yeh i saw how Hurdys are stronger  :jumpmove:
