Does anyone drive uprated speakers off headunit?

Does anyone have uprated speakers and headunit and not drive them through an external amp?wondering if this is going to sound decent enough until I save up for a decent amp install.
then again anything has got to sound better than standard!

its a defo no no. i was running high qualitly hertz speakers in my mk5 on the standard hu just before i sold it and it sounded horrible. you`ll defo need to run a amp

sorry didnt make myself clear i meant using an uprated headunit as well and just using the 4x50w internal amp in that

ohh.. well id still recommend using a amp because you`ll defo get better quality from that :happy2:

i'm running hertz up front and polyglass V1's in the rear powered only by the Pioneer headunit, when i took the car to see my audio guy and he sat in it to listen to what i have already he was impressed with the volume and bass i was getting - any he's won tonnes of sound off comps  :party:

i was planning to amp the speakers but i simply dont need to, just gunna run an amp for the sub

so my short answer is if you get the right match up then it's all good
