£15.36 In PayPal - Bulb Suggestions :D
« on: January 26, 2012, 02:39:55 pm »
Sick of walking to my car and unlocking it, see the lights come on, nice crisp white sidelights and crappy yellow headlights!

I have the exact amount sat in paypal so link me to the best bulbs including postage, there's tons of threads on bulbs but I want you to suggest ones that actually look white and not yellow not just ones you've heard look good :P

Much appreciated, must be on eBay go go go  :fighting:

I have the Philips Xtreme 100% ones and they are much whiter than generic bulbs, but you'd probably have to add a few quid. Even the +80% ones are very good and had them a few years back.
Used to have Edition 30 - number 009 and a GT TDI 140.
Now have an S4 B8 Avant (stage 2)

Osram Night Breaker Plus H7's:

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/230677598200 £13.69 Free postage

Bought these a month or so ago and am impressed. A good bit brighter than the standard bulbs. Not quite 'crisp white light' tho.

Philips Diamond Vision H7's:

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/H7-Philips-Diamond-Vision-5000k-Headlight-Car-Bulbs-Blue-Bulbs-/330675184861?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item4cfdc6e4dd £28.48

These are what I have in at the minute as I, too, wanted a crisp white light. These bulbs are fantastic tho. A subtle blue tinge to the reflector when unlit but completely white when on. Will try and get some comparison pictures up with my candle-power sidelights I still have in.

Just out of interest,, what sidelights are you using at the min? Any link?

Cheers

 :happy2:

Will eBay the buggers now!

I did indeed, had a 1.2GT Turbo Mapped to 128bhp with some custom detailed, also I ran TwingoOC for nearly 2 years and set-up the first FCS show!

Had black mirror caps and lowered more with spacers after that picture!

Are these osrams white looking for still yellow?

Got a link for them Mandy?

I have the Osram Nightbreakers but not 100% happy. As mentioned the Osrams are whitter then the OE bulbs but still not a crisp white.

That make, but not those 4750k ones.  :scared:

I went for the 4350k and passed MOT no probs, not sure you'd get away with the 4750k.

I took some photos to show the difference between Osram Nightbreakers and the Mtec Super Whites:

Just recently swapped my sidelights from Osram to Mtecs too, will update my build thread shortly with some pics.

Ok thanks Mandy. They look nicer then the Osrams from the pics in your thread.

Just noticed it says the 4750k ones are for 'off road' and 'show' use only so probably won't pass the MOT.

I assume you would be more likely to be pulled over by police with the 4750k ones?

Yes, I would've thought so.

The 4350k are more than enough for normal road use, much better over oem. :happy2:
