Sorry 182 - should have explained myself! I am going to replace it with another headunit and was just curious as to how i get the thing out of my dash board!

ahh i see, you need to remove the top vent as said above, although you should remove the bit in at the back of the top vent (sensor) first, then you need to remove the mesh vent  ( using trim tools) and theres only one screw, use this guide (ignore the first bit about the bluetooth) http://www.golfgtiforum.co.uk/index.php?topic=40928.0
