Mine is about 26 mpg but as you say it's hard to compare as it's only about 12 miles to work but it takes me nearly an hour !!!, on a long drive without much traffic I can get 36mpg

ahh i see, 32mpg for a 200+ bhp car seems more than fair to me, you really didnt expect 40mpg did you ?
Do remember how they come by those figures is "perfect scenario" which just doesnt happen in the real world, my old ST was quoted at average of 33mpg IIRC and it would only do 19mpg, now that is something to complain about :fighting:

I can get anywhere between 28 - 33 depending on traffic conditions. I also have a long drive coming up next weekend so will have a look then and report back.

28 mpg on a great variety of roads. I use the gears a lot because it's the way I've been taught - Always be ready and in the optimum gear. It's been 28 mpg for a very long time.
I've never seen more than 33 mpg.

Couldn't have put it better myself, and DSG makes this even easier and smoother. :happy2:

Looking at my little "Road Trip" software on my iPhone I am getting between 28-32mpg each fill up. Some weeks I manage to drive slightly slower and get a bit better and other weeks a bit quicker resulting in the lower figures. I do 24 miles each way to work every day along country lanes and a few A-roads so not a bad figure overall.

BF on my GTI and I usually get 28-30mpg on my daily commute. 13 miles of A and B roads, not usually stuck in any traffic.
