Top Cat:
I asked this myself a few weeks back, and also i have just had my bumper resprayed, And detailed 5 days after.  :happy2:
I think with modern paints and ovens, straight away is now the way people go.
I know one thing i got my car detailed, he spotted the crap paint job and promised i could bring the car back in to finish off the bumper.
Well i washed it after the bumper was sprayed and the wash mitt was basically gliding over the detailed sections and it felt like it was sticking to the freshly sprayed bumper.

You can get away with a wash and wax. I would not suggest a polish. Its new paint anyway...

You can use the following waxes and get really good results:

Bilt Hamber Auto Balm - Also hides swirls and smooths paint. So a good option.

Collonite

ETC ETC

Take a look at the online stores for more options...

I think when I was reading over at DW, you should aim for about a month before you start using sealants, which don't allow the paint to breathe but waxes are apparently, okay.

So wash, dry but don't clay/polish/seal, but can wax. Anyway, it's only a month. By that time, the weather will be nice enough and there'll be enough daylight that you can detail the car outside for at least 12 hours!

TomB:
I thought you could detail parts as soon as they came out of the bodyshop's oven, as they use compounds on them to smooth out dust and imperfections.
