MKV GTI correction detail
Tarmac_Terrorist:
This is my first correction detail having acquired all the necessary equipment over the past few months.
Unfortunately I didn't have enough time to take 'during' pictures but below are a few of the final results.
Overall the car only had very light swirling but the VW paint was tough to correct. The process followed and products used were:
1. Wash - 2bm using duragloss 901 & used AG engine cleaner around door shuts.
2. Clay - Sonus Green using Megs Last Touch as lube
3. Wash - again duragloss 901
4. Machine Polish (Kestrel DA & Megs & Menzerna polishing pads, Menz PO85 RD 3.02 and refined with Menz 106 FA under brilliant sunlight & twin halogens)
5. Wipe down with Menz Top Inspection & Poorboys green Mega plush MF's
6. Apply coat of Dodo SN V2 & buffed with Poorboys MF after 30 mins
7. Applied 2nd coat of Dodo SN & buffed again after 2 hours.
8. Polished wheels using Autoglym SRP and applied 2 coats of colinite 845 wax.
9. Treated black trim with Autoglym Bumper care green gel and dressed tyres with Chemical Guys tyre & trim gel.
10. Polished 'zorsts with Autosol
11. Applied Clearkote Quikshine with Poorboys mf to whole car including glass
12. Vacuumed interior
All in all took about 18 hours over 3 days (car garaged and not used)
