TWINtake fitted - louder than I expected!

Managed to fit the TWINtake yesterday, once I found a shop that sold a 24mm long-reach bi-hex socket  and I'm enjoying the 'darth vader' noises, albeit quite a bit louder than I thought!

A couple of the 70-90 hose clips / jubilee clips included with the kit didn't seem to tighten correctly (kept jumping threads and wouldn't go any tighter) so I'm going to nip to Halfords today and get a few new ones...

apart from that I'd recommend the kit thoroughly, and don't give up when trying to fit the last canister  :fighting: its a right B*stard but you'll get there eventually!

I found it helped greatly by prelubng the inside of the silicone hose using a little soapy water.

Everything then just slid in easily...

I still think the twintake is deffinately 100% louder than my ITG
When the twintake was on my car (DSG ED30) and we fitted it to a members car on here (manual ED30) the sound it produced was halfed, was deffinately louder on my car being DSG than a manual  :scared: still sounded great but I'm mega confused  :signLOL:
Love the twintake and miss mine loads

john87:
Aah, I should have comtemplated the lube idea

Mines is a manual and is plenty loud, god knows what its like on the DSG

Even this morning when I had the cruise control set to 70mph, came to a slight rise on the motorway, you could hear it start to breathe, followed by a light 'pssss' when the car reached the brow of the hill

Its like a Vick's inhaler for your engine  :happy2:

Weston:
If you think it's loud from inside get someone to drive the car towards you, even when going slow it's quite loud!
