APR Stage 1 >>>
« on: March 07, 2012, 12:56:59 am »
This is something that probably gets asked quite a bit and everyone has mixed opinions on it, Ive never got a straight answer.

My Golf has an APR Stage 1 Remap, Ive been recommended to run the car on Premium unleaded (Shell V Power I use) now alot of people say with a remapped car its essential to run it on premium fuel.

Is it true or just aload of rubbish ?

Thanks
Ross.

Is your's a switchable map?

You can normally have 95 and 98 RON maps switchable via the cruise stalk on APR. :happy2:

I don't think it's essential to run it on Premium fuel.

However you should run the map in 95Ron mode if you do use normal fuel. You will just suffer a performance loss in terms of outright power/torque

FWIW the difference of £4-5 or so for a full tank (based on V-Power being about 8ppl more than 95) i would rather run the premium as you do get better MPG.

I havn't got cruise on mine, but im probably going to get it installed.

Thanks for the responses, I agree its worth it to run it on V Power anyway.

I had mine done today and on stage 1 you can only switch between mapped and stock. Don't know if all 2.0tfsi are like this or just my ecu variant.
Some models have 95 and 98 Ron switch ability.

Mine has 95. 98, valet and stock maps and it's only stage 1 but a TSI.

Are your maps v3?
Or is it to do with the newer ecu? Someone else I know with an R only has stock and mapped switch ability also
I think on stage 2+ you get all the extra settings

Well to be honest I haven't tried it but Greg did say that on my ecu I would only be able to switch between stock and map.
Also on my manual it says
Seat Leon Euro my2009 2.0t fsi stages 1/2 v3.1 testpipes (single program)
Mode 1 98 ron octane chipped program
