Wipers not working
« on: March 09, 2012, 10:48:47 pm »
Hi all, quick question, my front wipers dont work, front washers do and rear wash wipe does, ive been thro the fuses under the bonnet all seem fine, if the bonnet catch had failed (it shuts properly) do the front washers still work?

Best way to check if its the bonnet sensor is to disconnect it and your wipers will work again if its the sensor  :happy2: it's located next to the right hand side headlight cluster just follow the cable from the catch back along to find it and unplug

Have you tried tightening the wiper bolts. Had a new windscreen fitted this week. After autoglass techy fitted it he tried testing the wipers and they didnt work?  :surprised: I pointed out that they werent bolted on. Worked fine after after they were bolted up.

fuse??under bonnet at side of battery,i think its a 25 amp that goes the wrong way to the others,or maybe bonnet latch switch, the multiplug wires need to be joined so it thinks its shut not pulled apart..you can also check on vagcom if you have that

I had the same line of thought so refitted my old lowline CECM but it made no difference at all, i called TPS today and a new motor is £105 +vat one is coming out tomorrow :sad1:

My HIDs are being removed and will never go near my golf again

Thanks for posting mate :happy2:

All sorted, it was the wiper motor, was quoted £105+vat from TPS arrived today and it was £82.49+vat given a massive discount of 28% so im happy with that, the HIDs have gone in the bin so xenons is my next step
