The 19"s look great in honesty but not sure how the ride is affected or how the wallet will cope after tyre replacements...

always loved the mk6 in carbon grey so was an easy colour choice, friend of mine is building a mk1 cab in same colour so i am looking forward to a photoshoot

second choice was red

What a cracking car, Love the 35 decals. As standard, are they only on the wings and inner door surrounds?

--- End quote ---

correct 35 badges on the wings and door sills, i purchased a couple of oem wing badges for the dash and boot which are an outrageous £29 from the stealer

--- Quote from: Top Cat on March 31, 2012, 09:02:34 pm ---Loving it Andy.  :happy2: Congratulations, looks very grown up and classy.  :drinking:

--- End quote ---

i wanted something a bit more understated and that attracted slightly less attention than the rocco, grown up and classy is how i'd sum up the mk6 over the mk5 same dna through the wheel but feels a bit more refined

--- Quote from: Beddie on March 31, 2012, 10:15:25 pm ---Gives me wood, plain and simple  :happy2:

--- End quote ---

take it easy Beddie you may need the cuprinol  :ashamed:

--- Quote from: stealthwolf on March 31, 2012, 11:08:57 pm ---I see what you mean about the rims. I wonder if they'd be better off in a darker finish.

Love the car otherwise and congrats on the purchase. Any shots of the interior?

--- End quote ---

stealth they are noticeably darker than the Pirelli, i think if too dark the'd lose definition

--- Quote from: WhiteGTI on April 01, 2012, 05:27:30 pm ---Why was it at the dealer for a month, Andy?

Also, I concur with the above...more interior pics!!

--- End quote ---

Chris it arrived early at the dealers which caught me out, was meant to be build week 5 and was build week 3, i'd always banked on end of march pick up, in reality i wanted to shift the rocco first  :happy2:

Looks pretty good, what's the engine like compared to the normal MK6 GTI?

The MK6's are gradually growing on me, but those alloys are just awful, Even wolfrace would be better imo!  :happy2:

engine wise Al its essentially the Ed30/Pirelli motor in the 35 rather than the TSI unit with the IHI turbo in the normal GTI (and my old rocco), for me engine is a cracker and was part of the appeal, coming from mapped cars the main thing you notice is the lack of torque in the mid range

i've always thought the mk6 had a more premium feel than the Scirocco and it does, it feels a better quality car in terms of how its put together, i am surprised how different in terms of cabin and engine noise it is compared to the Pirelli, has same GTI feel through road but feels a bit more grown up (which reminds me of the Mk6 R)

wheels are marmite but have a marmite mk5 sat on the drive, in reality it was brought for the engine  :happy2:

wigit:
ok not the best interior piccies but a few:

its a somber place but my last two cars have had leather and black roof linings so i am used to it, i am a massive fan of the GTI seats in terms of comfort and sportiness, the bolsters keep you firmly placed despite the leather, i love the hexagonal patterns on the door and dash trim and the seat belts take you back to the 18s, i'll take some more over the weekend

wigit:
some more pics from Pistonheads Sunday Service at Mercedes Benz World  :happy2:

Thor:
Looking good Wigit, can't wait to see it on the 12th.  :happy2:
