Miglior Detailing - Merc C63
JPC:
Completely forgot about this! Been a bit busy! White C63. Gorgeous car but I found the interior a little lacking. I prefer my interior other than the seats! This car was in for a “Pre Sale Detailâ€Â
So this is the condition of the car when I picked it up. Pretty nasty but any grime on a white car always looks that way.
I started on the interior which looked like this
The car was vac’d down. The dash cleaned with some APC and then some werkstatt Satin Prot to give it back that satin “not too shiny†look.
The leather looked like it could do with a thorough clean so that is exactly what I did.
First up for the leather was Gliptone Leather Gentle Cleanser
This is the cleaner drying off. It brought out quite a lot of the dirt. I used a brand new foam applicator and this was what it looked like after.
After the cleaner had been wiped clean and dried, the leather was treated with Some Leather Conditioner. This Left the leather feeling, smelling and looking a lot younger. It felt very soft. See after pics
The door shuts were also cleaned with APC. Then I agitated with brushes and cloths.
Now the interior is looking up to standard it’s time to start on the Engine bay.
The engine bay was carefully cleaned with Degreaser and left for 5 mins. Then it was agitated with various brushes and microfibre cloths.
This was then rinsed and left to dry out a bit. Then I used Aerospace 303 protectant to bring the plastics back to life.
So after that was done it was time to look at the exterior paintwork.
So I did my usual wash routine, I’m sure I don’t have to spell it out again.
After the wash it was pretty clear tar and brake dust bonded on the car was a big issue.
So I applied some Tardis so soften up the bond between car and tar. This was working well and it’s good to watch it in action on a white car.
The rest of the car was then clayed off with sonus extra fine clay. This was adequate with the previous use of tardis.
Then the car was dried off and moved back into the unit.
Then I started the correction. I used Menz 3.02 for a “one pass†correction which gave great results.
This gave at least a 95% correction.
After the correction the car was dusted down and wiped down with IPA to ensure no grease was on the car. This serves to offer the best platform for a last step product. On this occasion, it was to be Zaino Z2. Tried and tested many many times over by myself and its great on white cars. Not only does it add to the finish, with 3 coats, it forms a fantastic layer of protection from the elements.
All the door shuts were treated with Zaino Z2 also.
Whilst waiting for each coat of Zaino to dry (3 coats with ZFX) I had plenty of time to do the finishing touches.
The wheels were given two coats of Zaino Clear seal and the tyres were dressed with Swisswax Pneu and brushed with the Swisswax Pneu brush.
The exhausts were cleaned with Autosol and 00# grade wire wool.
They were pretty grimy and dirty.
One done, one not.
Both done
Now it’s time for some after shots.
Thanks for reading guys
