5 Reasons to avoid your local hand wash place
stealthwolf:
Come on Ben, even you know better than to use those guys. For shame!
Hedge:
I had similar when my VW dealer washed mine despite me telling them not to on several occasions. The guy laughed when I showed him. You only had to look around the car park to see the state of the other cars to understand why.
Feel for you Ben. Trip to one of the detailers on here in the near future.

The only people I used on my old car was someone who basically sprayed TFR and then rinsed it down. It was a no touch technique so never had swirls. I once watched a guy clean my grandad's car and he dropped the noodle mitt twice on the gravel ground.

If the car looks shiny, that's enough for them. Have you considered getting the No Washing signs from detailingworld? Look like bookmarks with a hook on the end to hang on the rear view mirror. I bought two and gave one to the service guy to attach to the paperwork and hung one in the car. They didn't wash it.

I hate dirty cars, but with the hosepipe ban I would rather have a dirty car than one that ends up looking like yours does now. In fact, I had my neighbours think I was barmy when I was washing my car in the pouring rain last week. At least it was wet to start with and the rain rinsed it down perfectly.
Much better than the scratch parlor down the road.

Got around the hosepipe ban by using jet wash connected to waterbutt or a small piece of hose connected to jetwash and dipped in a bucket or large container :happy2:
