I only knew that this was needed with the new mk7 generation. Never knew of any issue in our generation when replacing a battery. :confused:

No the mk5 golf does not seem to have this option.

Hpfp
Lpfp sensor
G35 sensor
Hpfp side sensor
Maf sensor
Rocker cover
Vacuum pipes
All engine gaskets done twice
Boost hoses
Intercooler hoses
Alternator
New batteries
Rev G Dv
New Rev PCV

The New pcv & Rev G Dv seems to have fixed the haunting issue.

The revs hang more now, like slow to drop back down.. only when the clutch is not engaged, but with the clutch pressed in the revs drop perfectly.
and it happens randomly..

Could this be a clutch swtich ?
