A very enjoyable read old chap!  :happy2:

Have to echo John_O's sentiment and the say visually the car does nothing for me! I appreciate the engineering excellance and the power this thing puts out but it's still got to aesthetically please me and this car far from does that!

Even the old S4 (V8) hit the spot when it came to looks! Now one of those with a Milltek would set my pulse racing!  :evilgrin:

Less of the "old chap" if you don't mind, Mr Rim King!

Now, it's only the Avants which do anything for me amongst the whole Audi range! The saloons leave me cold regarding looks. A friend of mine had a V8 S4 - I found its suspension very harsh.

I thought the Sprint Blue Avant I had looked elegant in the extreme for an estate car and it got a lot of very admiring looks and comments, especially from females.

Well you are old compared to me!  :P :laugh:

Im sure she did gain a few admiring glances and as you say this could have something to do with the striking Blue paintwork. That and the Christmas tree lights up front!  :laugh:

Now I know why you are called "Hedge" - Pic looks slightly as if you'd parked in the hedge! :grin:

A fine and classy limo :happy2:. Its styling hasn't dated that much either. What mpg did she do on average?

The car manufacturers' mpg claims are ridiculous - They don't live in the real world! [Mind you, neither do I!!]

....Audi have resolved the 'estate car' styling perfectly - Most other manufacturers look like they have merely tacked an extension on their saloon car version.

I'm the same - Saloons leave me cold but the Avants are really mean looking - Phat!!

If I kept to 70 (why would you want to do more) on the motorway I might break into the 20's, maybe 23 or 24 with a following wind and the spinnaker up.
A road driving 18 or less and normally I would average 18 or 19 on a tankfull.

Servicing was good as well. I had the misfortune to do the cambelt at Audi for a mere £750 and the combined bill including service and other stuff came to £1700.  :surprised:

I still miss the car though. :ashamed:

My lottery win car will always be a V8 RS6 though.  :happy2:

Those were the good old days, Hedge :smiley:.

APS had a RS6 Avant fully loaded with £40k of Sportec mods, 75k miles and £30k price tag - A very smart and subtle grey-green with Recaro interior etc etc etc. Over 180mph car apparently - Autobahn stormtrooper! You wouldn't like her!

I have a 53 plate A4 Avant! Its a dream! Especially in sport! The sun is coming back out to play so ill take some photos of my cars and upload them! New wheels this week as well woo!
