Hurdy:
Decisions, decisions.

Love my MK6 R, but now some juicy mods are out for the Mk7 R ( which initially for around £3.5k of mods would get me over 400bhp) I am wondering if it is time to sell.

I have 3 choices.....

1) Keep the MK6 and spend another £XXXX's? on getting her to the next level.

or.........

2) Sell her as she stands at 490+ bhp in road trim and buy a MK7 R

or........

3) Chop her back to stock, sell the parts and buy a MK7 R.

Is it enough of an upgrade to be worth the effort?

Hi Dan, do you mean upgrade the MK6 or upgrade to a MK7?

The MK6 upgrade would take me to 600+bhp, but cost probably almost 5 figures to get there as it would need an engine and transmission build plus a larger blower.

The MK7 upgrade would get me a new car and over 400bhp and would probably cost around the same after selling my MK6.

Another alternative would be to lease a MK7 for 2 years and keep it at 300bhp, which would cost less than just the upgrades for the MK6!! :rolleye:

Depends what your end goal is.

If it's to have a nice car that has 400bhp and not bothered about breaking records then mk7 no brainer.

For everything else.... Keep the mk6.

What's wrong with just running the mk6 as is?
