Hi Dan, do you mean upgrade the MK6 or upgrade to a MK7?
The MK6 upgrade would take me to 600+bhp, but cost probably almost 5 figures to get there as it would need an engine and transmission build plus a larger blower.
The MK7 upgrade would get me a new car and over 400bhp and would probably cost around the same after selling my MK6.

Didn't realize that was a bit ambiguous, I meant to go for the 7R, the 6 is what 5 years old? So not exactly an old car and would be a shame to see such a weapon dismantled. The 7R wouldn't have many benefits over the 6 and personally I would Much rather have a 600+HP golf that could beat supercars.
If I had your car + cash you're looking at spending the only swap that would make sense to me is sell yours and buy a MK5 R32 and strap 2 turbos on it, then you can have a somewhat more reliable 600+ bhp.
Hurdy:
A reliable 600+bhp R32 with DSG would cost more than a 600+bhp MK6 R.
I know what is involved as I work for a HPA dealer.
Pikey Motorsports:
i would say you where mad to sell for a mk7 r
