DAB amplifier off a MK6. After a bit of a search and a read on the net I replaced the left hand tailgate unit found in mine, see below.
The DAB version has a double Fakra on it so I had to source some connectors. Couldn't find where so bought a few leads with connectors on, they come off easy and it wasn't much additional outlay
Took the plug off and fitted it to my long extension lead that goes through the tailgate, headlining and into the DAB connector on the RCD510
Lashed it all up and it worked, had AM and FM as well, once tested tidied it all up and job done. Opens up a load more channels and as a bonus reception by me is pretty good.

Was this easy enough to do?
Been looking to do something like this for my 05 when my new radio comes, would love to hear any tips you may have.

Pretty straightforward to be honest, trickiest bit was feeding the cable through the tailgate grommet. There's a how to here but no pictures

You'll need the amplifier I have and it goes on the left as you look at the rear of the car. Fitting is easy. You'll also need a twin Fakra connector and a long lead to get to the front of the car.
I got my double connector here

And the long lead to the stereo here

You'll need to remove the straight connector off the long lead (clips off easy) and put the double connector on the lead instead. Remove the right angled connector on the other end and feed through the boot , grommet, headlining and into the stereo. Put the right angled connector back on and plug into you DAB socket on your stereo.
Jobs a good 'un. :happy2:
If you need anymore info let me know.
