And then, I got here on the back of an RAC truck

On the way to a track day at Blyton Park, the engine light started to flash after I tapped the cruise control resume switch. Duly stopped the car, switched it off and when I restarted the engine, I had no throttle operation at all. No fault codes found so the recovery truck was summoned, car loaded and delivered to Bedford.
Alex said he thought it was APR's anti-theft activating; APR (on the phone) said it wasn't and the car wouldn't start it if it was active; APR told Alex it was the anti-theft and I'd entered the wrong code (whoops :ashamed: ); Alex tries to enter the correct code only for it to not be accepted. I'm not entirely sure what followed but I *believe* the conversation between Alex and APR is that the map file is corrupt. Anyway, Alex sorted it by removing the APR software, so the corrupt file theory is pretty good IMO.
And then this happened:

Which is what you need to do to fit a Beach Buggy Turbos Hybrid K03, S3 injectors and a THS intercooler.
After which it was delivered almost directly to R Tech to be mapped. I don't have exact details on this Hybrid K03, but I expect either Alex or Niki will be able to chip in with some specs. Beach Buggy have estimated power output of 330bhp (which can't be that far off a stock K04 stage 2, am I right?), Niki has already seen 310bhp and development should continue over the next couple of weeks. His words so far are "If this performs well this will be the best, easiest and cheapest upgrade for the ko3 tfsi units" and "Driveability even at 310bhp is amazing...usable power that pulls and pulls".
This is very exciting news and I look forward to being able to see for myself what it's like. I've been passenger in a few quick TFSI motors, (mostly stage 1 and 2 K04s) and certainly thought mine felt fast at 270bhp so I guess it's going to feel bonkers with 330ish.
