Wax for diamond black ed30
S800BRN:
I used to really like Blackfire wet diamond wax for my black GTI, the polish was good too - can't remember the name of it now.
Markydee:
Cheers for the tips - heard good things about blackfire.
Gave the car a quick wash today - last wash was super resin polish then sealed with extra gloss protection so just a wash and dry today - noticed in the bright sun there were loads of very fine scratches/ swirls that were not there before? Washed carefully using 2 bucket method as usual? Could these be fine scratches in the sealant layer or would it be the clear coat?
The sealant was only added a month ago and it's still beading very well? Surely the SRP CAN'T DEGRADE BEFORE THE SEALANT?
Looks super clean but these fine marks under bright light are a right pain in the ass!

I have black gti also, pearl metallic so I was looking for something to make the metallic flakes - POP - as a lot of products even top of the range dull the flakes.
just had a new ex professional detailer move in over the road from me :jumping: and I got some advice from him, even let me look at a tub of £2500 car wax he has :surprised: now that's mad I tell you, and yes that's two and a half grand ffs
anyway I have put together some products that im hoping will work well
pre wash using spray foam lance = £48
polished bliss auto finesse avalanche snow foam =£30
auto finesse shampoo lather = £38 for 5litres
washed with Flexipads Merino Wool Wash Mitt = £14
wheels washed with r222 ( safe to use on monzas ) £22
and also using PB Luxury Wheel Woolies £42 for in and between the wheels
drying with high quality micro fibre cloths ( thin ones are useless ) £14 a towel
and drying with Metro Vac Air Force Blaster at 330mph lol ( damn great but expensive ) £199
sealing the monzas with poorboys wheel sealant £35
for the glass ENDUROSHIELD AUTOGLASS - HIGH PERFORMANCE RAIN REPELLANT AND GLASS PROTECTION £15
then using Blackfire Gloss Enhancing Polish £20
and finally Blackfire Midnight Sun Paste Wax £58
occasionally if needed for tar etc I use Auto Finesse Oblitarate £9
its a fair whack of cash and I am still waiting for delivery of the gloss enhancing polish as well as the glass rain repellent but due to the bulk of the cash being for machinery and a lot of the bottles / tubs are the large ones im hoping that will be me for a good year or so
total is around £542
I may look into polishers in the future but no more cash just now,
will post a pic when car is totally cleaned / sealed etc soon
as for my neighbour paying £2500 for wax (and he actually paid that ) the stuff even has its own presentation glass box :surprised:
bonkers some of the stuff out there
