Can I stop leather creasing??

(1/5) > >>

Ifti:
Im taking a trip up north in a few weeks - 300 miles there, and 300 miles back.
I will have both my children in the back, in their car seats, and a fifth passenger in the back.

Since I have a ED30, I have part leather, and the rear middle seat is obviously all leather.
No-one has ever sat there, so it has no creases etc.
I also tend to clean and condition the leather now and then.

Is there any way of protecting the seat so I dont get creases in the leather? Maybe some kind of protective stuff I can apply to keep it supple?

stealthwolf:
I think as long as you treat the leather before and after, it should be okay. You can't stop creases unless you don't let anyone sit in the car, but you can reduce the effect by looking after the leather.

v2brett:
you could try putting a thick blanket across the back seat to help abit and as said treat the leather before you go.   there is a way to slightly shrink leather with heat but this has to be done with great caution.
IMO the 1 journey shouldnt effect it anyway

Ifti:
This is deffo a one off.
I'll make sure I clean and condition the leather before and after the journey, and I had already thought about putting something down on the seat, a few towels etc, before anyone sat on it!!

plush-automotive:
you can warm the leather with a heat gun after your journey be carefull not to burn it though, or use a steamer mate these should drop the creases out for you :happy2:
