Hmmm.....Too much of a sweeping statement to say that all hubs over 40k will fail (Hoping I'm not tempting fate around The Ring!). What about the factor of how much power he's been subjecting those hubs to? I appreciate any heads-up though.

Thanks for the info regarding the hubs, i appreciate it!
Any photos of the Elise? I, too, am an Elise owner, and have contemplated putting an ED30 engine it for ages, however am i right in saying that there are a few compatibility formalities regarding emerald ecu management and the Elise?? That's just what I've gathered along the grape vine, please correct me if I'm wrong.......

Chris,
don't think its much of an issue. Have a word with Steve Guglielmi at Guglielmi Motorsport if you want. He's done a few conversion using the old 1.8T. But think he usus MoTeC instead as his ECU. I do know of another chap on SCN that's done a conversion using Emerald tho.

As far as I know Owen Developments did the motor and mapping for that car?
FSI is a different story though, to run the MED9 ECU you would have to run the stock clocks etc.. Straight forward enough really, and as far as I know there is only one stand alone engine management solution out there at the moment that works off the shelf with the 2.0T FSI engine..

ah you're prolly right about OD doing the work...it is splattered all over his car!
thought they might have just supplied the Turbo but then what do i know! :happy2:
fair point about the FSI prob...hence people still like to use the 1.8T for interesting conversions.
