Remap on high mileage?
Gazmufc87:
Hello,
I know this probally has been discussed before but!
Does anyone have any experiences with a remap on a high mileage tdi.
I've got a 08 mk5 1.9 tdi 105 match with 142000 on the clock.
Looking into remaps but don't really wanna wreck any other parts.
I don't rag it do you think it will be alright?
Cheers :-X
Cars just been serviced and runs ok.

Tuned an A3 today with similar mileage, made 107bhp and 190ftlb stock. Tuned it made 152bhp and 268ftlb
Mileage would not concern me, more the quality of the map.

As PDT says
Providing it's been looked after and well serviced, you should be fine :happy2:
I imagine a lot of your mileage is motorway? Which is much less stressful for a car than 70k town driving
Gazmufc87:
To be honest I not had the car that long I bought with this milage.
It was a lease car with full vw service history.
So yeah I would imagine it was motorway use
I don't do a lot of miles myself.
It is tempting:'(

I can vouch for Dave at PDT tunings maps, just sold on my Mk4 Golf TDI 130 which he mapped at 189, transformed the car, same economy and no issues over 35,000 miles, I wouldn't let the mileage put you off. My golf before was on 350,000 you just need to service them regularly and obviously, not drive the pants of it constantly, mechanical sympathy extends the life of a car.
