VW Racing exhaust

And to think that I sold my resonated box to some lucky bugger.... :P

Having heard the Blueflame on MatEd30's car back in Feb, I will probably opt for that for the Mk4... APR would be nice, but too dear for what it is.

It all just goes to show how we each have different hearing and sound/noise thresholds and tastes - It's mostly why Milltek offer the Resonated and Non-Resonated options - to cover different tastes. My original 2005 Milltek's 3,200 revs boom disappeared after a couple of thousand miles. I used to get rid of it by using my right foot to either accelerate or lift off - Helps reduce the boredom of motorway driving.
I could easily live with VWR's 'tuning car' every day and love the sound of the stripped out road-legal track car (in my sig) even more - Not at all uncomfortable to my ears.
At the moment, my Milltek is a pre-production next generation system with a very similar (if not the same) back box to the VWR and 'we' (Milltek with my input) are currently about to develop a slightly louder res box to be equivalent to the older Non-Resonated version. I'm with them with my car at Castle Combe this Saturday if anyone going to the VW/Audi day is interested in knowing more directly from the horse's mouth.
The sound of my existing pre-production system is inbetween Resonated and Non-Resonated. Stokeballoon travelled with me to The Ring recently so he knows what that sounds like inside. And Steve and Greenie know what it sounds like from outside (I don't!).

I suppose the vwr exhaust is more designed in mind for motorsport use? It is really down to preferance but as my missus also uses the car I would imagine she would go nuts at a loud and drony exhaust. I do like the noise of the miltek very much I was just after a comparison :happy2:

Don't forget that hearing and frequency audibility reduces with age though Robin, so you are probably not hearing what I am :booty:
