Any one tried Maxxis MA-Z1 tyres
raptor_tom22:
Has anyone tried the Maxxis MA-Z1 tyres, the price doesn't seem too bad but not really heard much about Maxxis car tyres before.
GrayMK5GTI:
Seeing as they didn't even make it into Auto Express tyre test and not recommended on the forum I wouldn't even bother with them.
Cheap tyres ruin the way the car drives. Best "budgets" are Falken FK452 if your REALLY hard up, but still best avoided. My vote goes for Goodyear Eagle F1 Assymetric 2. Superb in all conditions and can easily handle the power of a GTI.
Cheap tyres will have you all over the road

Thanks for the reply much appreciated, think I'll steer clear of the Maxxis then :)

Gray speaks da truth :happy2:
Another point to remember is that if the tyres fitted don't have the appropriate rating for the car, it then throws your insurance into jeopardy (as well as risking throwing you and your ride into a ditch!).
Tyres are the only thing which gives your car contact with the road - Only a fool doesn't respect that. The tyre contact patch is only about the size of a CD case.
