Hmm.. The only things that I paid anyone to do on my Golf was fit the brakes and remove the AC, apart from that I did it all myself.. Stop talking S*it..

In a couple of hours.. Engine is going to come out anyways to do the turbo, so if it needs a block then most of that work is already done

Never used a t04r or know any specs on it but seeing a t04z is larger than a standard gt3582 then i wouldn't recommend any on a 2l road car.
jonny you won't need a new block,just rebore the one you have .

The T04R is kinda like a half way house between the GT30 and the GT35 - with a well spec'd turbo it could be usefull

How can you say that without looking at the block ??

The piston could have scored the block badly, it could have done anything !


Fingers crossed it'll be fine, but sadly there's no gaurentee
