TC you could always crack open a Peanut M&M and use the shell!

I'm sure that would give you a nice tight fitting helmet!  :innocent:

you got to go try them on TC, different makes feel very different even though they can be the same size.
I ran (and destroyed!) an Arai on the bike , but for track days I'd reduce the cost and get another make ...

one other thing for the 'tarts' , I'd suggest a dark colour helmet so it doesnt spoil your track day pics  :happy2:

I've got two Peltor helmets. Open face and very comfortable. One has a full built in com system too.
Only 250.1bhp - but with that noise, who cares?

I've had quite a few Bike helmets over the years. My ARAI Quantum was/is just amazing  :happy2: even though its seen its fair share of gravel  :ashamed:

Both ARAI/SHOEI are high-end lids, they are very high quality and the comfort/fit are far superior to many others IMHO.......also they both make open face helmets!

Are open face helmets more suited for car use?

Will Helmets be needed at the Ring in May?

....No. The Nordschleife is classed as a public toll road. Some wear them though.

....

I prefer full-face in a car. I don't see the logic of protecting your brain but not your jaw and mouth areas.

My helmet (bike type) has a flip face section anyway.

I'm sure someone has mentioned already that you need to buy the best you can afford, depending on how much you value your head.

And you absolutely MUST try them on.

Personally, as someone else mentioned, I'd go with a full face one, because even if you have harnesses, and you have a shunt, all manner of sh*t will hit your face, including, possibly, the steering wheel etc.

Also, full face has the benefit of being able to be used if you go karting.

Get yourself a balaclava as well. You might look like a tool, but you can wash the balaclava much more easily than you can the inside of your helmet, because no matter what anybody says, you will get damn hot wearing it for any length of time.

I have a sparco formula, which wasn't too expensive, but I didn't feel, given how often I was likely to do trackdays, that it was too cheap either. And it fit me well.

Just my two pennies worth. Feel free to disagree :-)
