Steering Wheel Controls

Evenin' all,

I have a Kenwood DNX7240 and for the life of me cannot work out how to get the steering wheels controls to work.

I have one of these:

Now on the bank of the Kenwood there is no where for me to plug the gold connector in so am i right in thinking it is either then gold plug OR the brown wire depending on which Kenwood unit you have?
