Non res on mine, i love it but still think the gti has one of the dullest sounding 2.0t engines out of the hot hatches
I know the astra vxr is a chavs hot hatch and i would never buy one but they do sound lovely with a milltek or remus and they pop and bang when you let off the loud pedal. A bit like a rally car but not as loud.

my scooby used to do that, spat flames aswell when you built up all the fumes and let it rumble down from 3k revs

....The Milltek Resonated version has the middle section of the exhaust with a silencer box.

The Non-Resonated version has a straight through pipe in the middle section.

The two components are interchangeable.

I don't know what it is with my exhaust but it seems to sound different than most!  :jumpmove: If I let off the loud pedal after giving it the beans in second or third as soon it gets to about 3k it starts to pop, bang and grumble, anyone else had this?  :rolleye:

Normally it is a sign of overfuelling and the fuel igniting in the exhaust.... not good for the Cat...

Anyone know what the difference in sound is like between resonated and stock exhausts?

The GTI isn't just a machine. It's very much a living, breathing thing.

....It's always very diificult to describe sound. The Milltek Resonated is just a bit louder and consequently brings out more of the sound's qualities - a tad deeper/growlier but it's all very subtle and only gets louder than stock as the revs climb.

Personally I find Resonated too close to stock in sound level. You can hear a mature Non-Resonated Milltek all the time inside the car but again not loudly until you use the loud pedal.

Neither are even vaguely 'boy-racer' or coarse sounding.
