Following on from the build and eventual sale of my little Derv monster... - http://www.mk5golfgti.co.uk/forum/index.php/topic,64568.0.html

I should probably actually update with a new thread for the new car.

I picked up a 2006 GTI 10 days ago. Spec list

DSG with paddles
Reflex Silver
85k
Cambelt and WP changed with FSH.
Sunroof
Xenons
Puddle Lights
Leccy folding mirrors

A few dinks and dents here and there but overall seems really good condition. Wheels are corroded to hell however I'm quite happy with it.

Firstly I got the Diverter Valve changed as I was getting a p0299 underboost code and the car felt really flat.

I had a RevB in there before.

Stuck a RevG in and much, much better.

Gave it a quick detail, some new wipers, and an iPod kit (not happy with the iPod kit at all, it doesn't change tracks from the HU/wheel controls, although it's supposed to, and constantly charges the iPod even when the car is off, ergo drains the battery if you leave it plugged in).

Had a big box of parts come through the first week of ownership...

Contained within:

Pressed plates, number plate surrounds, Mk5.5 rear boot handle (3d to replace the horrible corroded one), Newsouth Boost Gauge, LED number plate lights, etc.

Got some paddle extensions courtesy of Mandy (thumbs up for the service there!)

I have a new set of wheels which are undergoing a refurbishment process.. the lips I will be polishing myself, (I did the one in the picture) and the faces will be getting sprayed a very special colour indeed.  :popcornsoda:

They will not be going on until we have more lows though which should hopefully be by the end of the month.

I had a misfire problem last week, but it's been fine since. However it is booked in at VW for new coil packs under the recall first thing tomorrow morning.

At the weekend it is getting a DSG oil and filter change.
I performed a DSG adaption last week and it was much better than before (cheers to Rich for pointing out the process).
